Types of cake available
All our cakes are suitable for vegetarians. We can also make gluten free sponge
and fruit cakes , and dairy free cakes.
Our fruit cakes do not contain nuts. They are made with butter and include
cherries sultanas raisins and currants. as well as sherry and rum.
Sponge cakes can be plain or chocolate sponge. The cakes are layered with butter
cream. Carrot cake and lemon cake is also available.
Sponge cakes usually keep for up to two weeks once they are covered with icing.
Portion sizes
The portion sizes quoted are 2” x 1” and are a suitable size for sponge cakes. We
have included all the tiers in the numbers quoted.
If you are having a fruit cake you may wish to give the more usual
finger size piece, which is 1” x 1”. This means you will have more
portions and may be able to keep the top tier if you wish.
Samples of cake are available on request.
Extra portions
An iced, but undecorated cake in fruit or sponge cake can be
provided. This can be used for extra portions without the added
expense of an extra fully decorated tier.
Ordering
Please allow at least 8 weeks notice or longer if sugar flowers are
required. However we can only accommodate a limited number of
cake orders each week, so please order in good time to avoid
disappointment.
All our cakes can be personalised by changing the colours and
details, so it is important that we have all the relevant information.
If you are unable to call into our shops to place an order, please
email the details of what you would like together with a contact
telephone number. We can then confirm all the details with you
and quote the total cost including any delivery quote you may
need.
Payment
A 50% deposit is required when you place an order. A detailed
order form will be sent to you with your receipt for you to check
that all the details are correct. The balance will be due two weeks
before delivery or collection.
